WDCK "The Best Radio Show in the World"

C'mon little kiddes and gather 'round, Uncle Bing's gotta story that is the talk of the town.

First of all if Frank can figure out a way to post it you should all be listening to WDCK Radio the best damn podcast ever, or something like that.

But we need to back up a little first....

Back in college me and The Frank used to do a fake radio show that we thought was pretty good for two drunk college boys. Each time we did it we tried to build on the last show to "perfect" it to be what we wanted. After college we had about 5 different "shows" all of which were remakes of each previous show. Fast forward to the present day and you have the final result which is WDCK Radio-The FrankenBing show.

We wanted to do a more polished version of this idea with real intros and a basic plot (the intern) so that people who didn't know us or our humor could listen to and appreciate it. Hopefully we can have it up soon so those of you who can't get a copy can download it from the internet.

If you are interested in some WDCK trivia read on, if not..thanks for getting this far.

* The reference to Leroy the toe guy is the oldest joke to make it into all WDCK shows. Originally intended as just an odd guy hanging around Leroy quickly became an actual (if not real) character on the show. (for those who haven't heard the show, Leroy was an old intern that had a severe foot fetish, he would use his feet instead of his hands. His first mention was when Frank's pizza tasted like toe.)

* The current intern "Judas" was originally included only for the shooting range incident. His character would be introduced in the beginning of the first segment and then would be gone by the end of that segment. Jake was so funny as that guy that we stretched his character over the entire show. He made it easier for the listener to get into the show instead of feeling like you've walked into the joke midway through. I'm sure he'll be back if we have enough interest to warrant a second show.

* Slapp does make a (brief) appearance in the open to segment 2. "You blowin' CHUNKS?!"

* WDCK took one night to record and 6 months to mix. There are 4 different versions, the 3rd version is the one that is considered the "Final" cut.

* The only joke that was not a spur of the moment thing is the shooting range bit. My personal favorite is Frank's "yes, yes, yes, That's my name too." line.

* Jake's only direction during the recording was "don't try to be funny".

I really hope enough people have some interest in this project so that we can do more of them. This was the most fun I've had since "The Three Funnelteers"....but that is a whole different story.
